Background
Philip is a Renewable Fuels and SAF Consultant, specializing in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and leveraging capital to drive systemic change.
Philip's journey into sustainability began during his undergraduate studies, where he identified the benefits of using slag, a byproduct of the steel-making process, as an alternative to sand in concrete. His research was recognized by Jindal Steel Works, leading to the advancement of the field and the eventual launch of Jindal Panther Cements, one of India's most sustainable cement manufacturers.
Philip’s career spans organizations of various sizes across numerous sectors, unified by his passion for sustainability. At Freshworks, he led business consulting and market growth while overseeing community projects, including the transformation of a garbage dump into an urban forest and the adoption of an underfunded government school, which prompted the formation of the company’s CSR wing. He has also worked on sustainability projects with top firms such as Vista Equity Partners and Santander Bank, helping design their ESG policies.
Philip holds a BE in Civil Engineering from Anna University, and an MBA with a Sustainability Certificate from Georgetown University. While at Georgetown, he conceptualized and implemented an internal carbon tax for its business school, with proceeds funding climate-focused startups through the newly formed Georgetown Climate Ventures. Additionally, he has completed his CFA in ESG Investing.
In his free time, Philip enjoys playing the guitar, going on long hikes, surfing, playing soccer, trying new recipes, and listening to rock and jazz.
