Our expertise

Electrons, molecules, and nature are
strategic assets.

We help organizations go beyond compliance and create competitive advantage from energy and natural capital.

Our team focuses on resource-intensive sectors that need credible climate transition planning, regenerative business models, innovative financing, strategic partnerships, and project deployment at scale.

We focus on systems change involving electrons, molecules, and nature-based solutions.

Electrons

Integrating clean electrons (electricity) into our homes, businesses, and the broader economy is crucial to the success of 2050 climate and nature goals. Fossil fuels account for over 60% of total global electricity generation and over 90% of total power sector greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

For businesses, shifting to clean energy sources, such as solar, wind, and geothermal, can close a sizeable portion of the commitment-action gap on GHG reduction. However, these strategies must be financially and operationally viable to deliver their intended impact.

Our team specializes in quantifying the business case for energy projects. We’ve worked with companies from early-stage startups to global corporations to develop tangible energy transition strategies and create the governance to successfully execute them. With our tailored approach and deep expertise across the corporate strategy, finance, technology, and regulatory landscapes, we can help you navigate everything from understanding the impact of changing utility rates and onsite solar permitting to state and federal energy policies.

Our core focus areas include: clean energy procurement, energy efficiency, supplier energy transition, onsite generation and storage, microgrids, fleet electrification, and EV charging infrastructure.

Molecules

Our society is centered around fossil fuel energy sources, from how we power our homes to how we transport people and things. While electrification is essential to reaching global net zero goals, it isn’t the be-all and end-all solution for everything.

We need molecules, or renewable fuels, to decarbonize heavy-emitting sectors like long-haul trucking, aviation, and maritime. These replacements for fossil fuels are available today, can be used with existing infrastructure, and produce a fraction of the emissions.

Our team brings deep expertise in the renewable fuels ecosystem, from the molecular to systems level. We understand the chemistry behind the production, application, and carbon mitigation potential of these technologies as well as how to make them a viable market alternative to fossil fuels. Whether it’s renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), or hydrogen, we can help you build coalitions, navigate the financing stack, and develop supportive policy to scale these critical solutions.

Nature

Today’s businesses are highly reliant on water and nature, and these deeply interconnected systems are under threat. Biodiversity loss, resource depletion, aging and underfunded infrastructure, poor governance, and the compounding impacts of climate change pose serious physical, regulatory, and reputational risks to businesses.

However, it’s not just about risk – water and nature also present a tremendous opportunity to amplify brand value, create new products and services, and secure long-term competitive advantage, or a “license to grow.”

Our team, led by global water expert Will Sarni of recently-acquired Water Foundry, has decades of experience working in this space and has developed a vibrant ecosystem of thought leaders, innovative Water and NatureTech startups, investors, development banks, and Fortune 500 companies to accelerate solutions and impact on water and nature challenges. We can help you facilitate the right connections, align action on water and nature with business strategy, and learn from practitioners driving meaningful change at the climate-water-nature nexus.
